FAQ

To reduce the chance of sensitivity we don’t recommend you have a professional dental scale and polish too close to your whitening appointment. It’s best to wait 2-3 weeks. If you had a dental clean done in the last 1-2 months time, it’s fine to go ahead with whitening.

You can expect to be at the clinic for 1 hour and 15 minutes for a whitening appointment. The actual treatment time itself is 45 minutes, 3 x 15 minute sessions.

We have 3 whitening packages available:

Silver $235

Gold $260

Platinum $315

Our staff will check your teeth first, then protect your gums  and apply whitening gel, which only qualified trained dental aestheticians can use. This is then followed by a 12-15 minute whitening session. This cycle is then repeated 3 times, using fresh original gel in every cycle, offering you a beautiful bright smile at the end of your appointment.

Pre-Whitening– If you have very sensitive teeth in general, we recommend that you start using a sensitive pro-relief or sensodyne toothpaste using a soft toothbrush, at least one week prior to coming to us.  This will help reduce the sensitivity experienced during the whitening procedure.
Post-Whitening–  We recommend you refrain from consuming coloured food and drinks like red wine, tea, coffee, beetroot, spinach, curries etc. for at least 24-48 hours to maximise the whitening results. We also recommend using a soft toothbrush and Colgate sensitive pro-relief or sensodyne toothpaste for next few days following the whitening treatment.

Our Whitening treatment results last for approx. 1-2 years time, depending upon genetic make-up of your teeth as well as your food habits especially if you are a smoker or heavy consumer of curries or dark coloured food or drinks like tea/ coffee or red wine.  In general, you can repeat whitening sessions anytime after 3-6 months.

The teeth whitening process will remove intrinsic staining from your natural teeth. However, the gel will also help remove all extrinsic staining from all teeth, including false teeth. This means that your false teeth will be ‘cleaned’ back to their original colour but crowns, veneers and Implants can NOT be whitened  any further than their natural colour you got them in. If you are planning to have a crown, bridge, filling or false tooth, it is recommended that you first have your teeth whitened. Your dentist will then be able to match the shade of the false tooth to your new colour.

Yes, Absolutely! The treatment does not change the shape or structure of your teeth in anyway. Though if you have very sensitive teeth in general, you may experience some very mild sensitivity to your teeth during the procedure and for next 1-4 days, before your teeth get back to normal.
Our Whitening system is completely safe and is the BEST Whitening system available on market till Date. It has received  ‘The BEST Whitening System’ Award by Dental Advisor Board consistently 9th year in a  row since 2009. This whitening system does not use any harmful UV Rays like some other systems and only uses cool white light only,  therefore no burning sensation experienced,  making is comfortable and safe to go through.

Immediately! There is no waiting around for 2 or 3 weeks to see the results. As soon as you are finished with your teeth whitening treatment, you will look in the mirror and see the results.

On average we whiten teeth 4-8 shades. This depends on the mineral content contained in the dentin of your teeth. Results will therefore vary between individuals. Mineral content depletes with age, by the foods you ingest, and can also be affected by medicines that you may have taken as a child. Generally speaking, we will get your teeth to as white as they were when you were a teenager and sometimes whiter. Some people prefer not to have this level of whiteness, and should request prior to a procedure not to have their teeth whitened too dramatically.

You won’t feel any pain during this procedure but you may feel some mild sensitivity depending upon the make-up/genetics of your teeth. Most patients don’t feel any sensitivity at all and go through this procedure very comfortably. But some may feel minor sensitivity during and post treatment for 2-3 days.
If you have very sensitive teeth in general, we advise that you can start using a  Colgate sensitive pro-relief or Sensodyne toothpaste 1 week prior to coming for In-Office teeth Whitening treatment- this will help reduce the sensitivity experienced during the whitening procedure. We also advise using soft toothbrush and Colgate sensitive pro-relief or Sesnodyne for next few days post whitening to help resolve the minor sensitivity if you have.

Since there have not been enough research/studies  done on the effects of bleaching gels on babies in utero, and it’s purely a cosmetic treatment, it’s best to hold off until you’re done with pregnancy and breastfeeding. The procedure can be safely performed shortly after the baby is born and mother is not breastfeeding any longer.

There are usually no contraindications to teeth whitening. However, there are some situations that completely or temporarily exclude the treatment. Possible contraindications are-
• Mechanical tooth damage or cavities. Prior to the teeth whitening procedure, all cavities or lesions must be repaired.
• Bad oral hygiene with inflammation of the gums. It is necessary to change dental care habits and cure the inflammation prior to Whitening.
• Allergies or hypersensitivity to oxidising agents & whitening gels, glycerine and polyacrylic resins.
• Pregnancy and breast-feeding.
• Under 16 years of age, due to ongoing tooth mineralization. Whitening is possible after the mineralization process has been completed.
